BRAD HERSHEY studied music at the University of Puget Sound and received his Bachelors of Music in Instrumental Performance from the University of Idaho in 2002. He played double bass for the Boise Philharmonic for six seasons after playing for three years with the Washington-Idaho Symphony. He relocated from Boise to the Wood River Valley in 2006 and is was the Upper School Music Director at Community School in Sun Valley. He is currently the Wood River High School Orchestra and Guitar teacher. He has played double bass with the Sun Valley Jazz Trio, the Joe Fos Trio, and played in productions by Company of Fools, St. Thomas Playhouse, nexStage, Sun Valley Company, Sun Valley Opera and Caritas Chorale. He has performed with Dave Brubeck, Ernestine Anderson, Art Farmer, and Paul Tillotson. Brad has been music director for several musical productions in the valley and also teaches at the Sun Valley Summer Symphony Workshops. He has played bass or cello with the Wood River Orchestra since 2008 and has been director since 2011.
